About Bozberry Farms

Bozberry Farms Day Rainbow Blueberry Farm

Bozberry Farms recently entered an exciting new chapter with a change in ownership. The farm is now proudly owned and operated by Brenda Bosworth and Bruce Holcomb, who are committed to preserving the farm's rich history while continuing to improve the property and provide a welcoming experience for families, friends, and visitors. Their goal is to honor the traditions that have made Bozberry Farms a favorite local destination while investing in its future for generations to come.

Bozberry Farms was created in March 2007, when a larger farm was divided and 54 acres of property was purchased to establish the new farm. Acquired with the property were 13,000 high bush blueberry plants that sit upon 20 or so acres of the land.

In the 70s bushes were planted upon the hillside overlooking Rock Run Road in Turtlepoint, Pa. From the top of the fields, where a sitting/picnic area can be found, one can experience a view of the valley.

Since ownership, Bruce and Brenda Bosworth, along with family and friends have worked hard at improving access to the blueberry bushes. Pruning started in the spring of 07 and with the guidance of specialist from Penn State, three row or approximately 315 bushes were trimmed at the base because of the severe overgrowth, at the time bushes were turned into mulch. Since that first spring, each year another 3 rows of blueberries are pruned to the base allowing for healthy new growth.

Berries are now being harvested from the new bushes that were trimmed to the base in 2007.

OUR BLUEBERRIES
In the field you can find a variety of blueberries starting with the early berries at the bottom of the hill and working your way to the top with the late berries. The blueberries are sold by the pound (1.75 U-Pick) in your containers or ours. If you would like to place an order of picked berries at $4.00 a pound usually sold in 10 pound boxes. Contact us and we will let you know when your berries will be ready for pickup.

If you need a break or have had enough picking don't forget we have 3 picnic areas where you can relax and enjoy a picnic lunch. Sodas and Water are available at the weigh station. And of course don't forget the camera for family photos of your day trip to the u-pick Bozberry Farm.

We also accept the Pennsylvania Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (SFMNP) checks at our farm. These checks can be used to purchase unprocessed fruits and vegetables. The Farmers Market Nutrition Program is operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the Pennsylvania WIC Program and the Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging. For more information on the program call 1-800-468-2433.
